Rapid Color Changing Chemistry

Rapid Color Changing Chemistry:

Sometimes it’s hard to tell SCIENCE from MAGIC - and this little demonstration is a great example of that. In this experiment you will watch an almost clear liquid suddenly turn dark blue in a flash. It takes a bit of preparation, and probably a trip to the pharmacy for materials, but we think it’s worth it.

Try some lava in a cup

* 1/4 cup vegetable oil
* 1 teaspoon salt
* Water
* Food coloring (optional)

Making things glow in the dark

Have you ever wondered what makes certain things glow under black lights?

For this experiment you will need:

• a black light
• petroleum jelly
• a piece of paper

First we’ll use the petroleum jelly as a kind of invisible ink. Dip your finger into the jelly, then use your finger to write a message on the piece of paper. Use more jelly if you need to – but this probably isn’t the time to write a long speech! When you’re finished, wipe any remaining jelly off your finger. Have the black light ready, then turn off the room lights and turn on the black light.

Smoke without fire

Smoke without fire:

As result of reaction of acid with a base, salt is forced this
 can be chemically given in the formulae. you can conduct this
simple experiment.
smoke

HCL+NH3=NH4CL
(smoke without fire)

Materials you need are:

Make your own telescope?

Make your own telescope?

Telescope:
An optical instrument for making distant objects appear
larger, make or become shorter by sliding each section
inside the next; compress or become compressed forcibly.
Telescopes are of two kinds. refractors and reflector type.
The refractors telescopes use lenses which bend the light rays
and the image is seen as magnified object. Reflector telescopes
are mirrors to display the image. There are three kinds of
telescopes they are Galilean, Newtonian and cassegranian.

Materials to make your own telescope:

light a light bulb with a balloon

light a light bulb with a balloon

you need:

hard rubber comb or balloon
a darken room
fluorescent light bulb ( not an incandescent bulb )

SOUND LENS USING A BALLOON

SOUND LENS USING A BALLOON

A ballopn full of CO2 gas can act as a  sound lens, because sound travels
More slowly in CO2than it does in air ,
